Ufa opens a time capsule from 1974
For the city's 450th anniversary, a message deposited by Komsomol members 50 years earlier was opened. The city library network described the capsule's history and the tradition of addressing future generations.
Context
The capsule connects two anniversaries through a previous generation's message. Its opening illustrates how a city preserves memory through residents' words as well as through buildings and monuments.
